How the Waiting List Works

Camp weeks are filling up! So what are the options if you haven’t gotten your camper application in yet, and you don’t want your camper to miss out on all the fun this summer at Camp of the Woods? ACT NOW to get your camper application in—visit www.cotwcanada.com! But if your first choice is full, then here’s how our WAITING LIST works:

• All camp weeks are on a first-come, first-served basis beginning when the camper application is released.
• Campers receive a confirmation after a completed application AND camper fees have been received.
• Space in cabins is limited, and so weeks frequently fill up. We keep the camper application on our website updated so families can see which weeks still have space available.
• There are almost always spaces available in other camp weeks if their first choice is full. And even if campers don’t have a friend to sign up with them, we can guarantee they’ll have the opportunity to make a lot of new friends, no matter which week they attend!
• If there is a specific week that is the only option for your camper, and it is full, we do offer a WAITING LIST which you may request to join by contacting the camp office—office@cotwcanada.com, (807)938-6469, or on Facebook @COTWCanada.
• WAITING LIST spots are also first-come, first-served. If there is a cancellation or a spot opens in a week that is full, we start with the campers who have made the earliest requests and continue down the list until we find a camper who is willing and able to accept the open spot. We will attempt to contact families by phone and email.
• Once a spot has been filled, the list is then updated to start with the next camper who has not yet been contacted. In other words, if a camper declines an open spot, they are removed from the waiting list.
• Due to scheduling conflicts, changes of plans, illness, and a variety of other factors, spots often open for weeks that are full. We love to contact families on the waiting list to let them know that their camper can come! It feels a little like helping make a child’s dream come true!

A week of summer camp at Camp of the Woods is an amazing and awesome experience filled with fun, friends, food, and God’s love. We hope to see your camper this summer!
