Camper & Volunteer Story - Danielle

Camp of the Woods is really a place like no other. My first time going to Camp of the Woods was as an 8 year old camper. It was a super fun time where I made new friends and learned more about God and His love for me. I continued to attend camp off and on as I grew up, and at the end of every week I could hardly wait for the next summer to come around!

When I was finally old enough, I became a summer staff member. Being on staff at Camp of the Woods really changed my whole perspective. I finally understood why Jesus told his disciples to have faith and receive the Kingdom of God like a child. As a cabin leader, it was amazing to see how much of an impact God had on those girls’ lives. Seeing that impact inspired me to come back for another year of summer staffing!

My second year on summer staff was similar to my first, as I was a cabin leader, team leader, and specialized activity leader! I really enjoyed those jobs, especially because they gave me a chance to connect with lots of the kids! They also taught me how to overcome obstacles and rely on God when plans change quickly! Camp of the Woods really is an amazing place where you are able to have a good time, and really connect with God.

Jon and Sara have been coming to Camp of the Woods for many years now. They started coming as teenagers and have spent lots of time at COTW over the years.
